Air Fryer Baked Potatoes are crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. They’re quicker than using an oven and perfect as a side dish or loaded with toppings for a full meal. You only need a few basic ingredients and less than an hour.
Why Use an Air Fryer?
The air fryer gives potatoes that perfect crispy skin without needing lots of oil. It cooks faster than a traditional oven and doesn’t heat up the whole kitchen.
Ingredients
- 2 medium russet potatoes (or any starchy variety)
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Optional toppings: butter, sour cream, shredded cheese, chives, bacon bits
Instructions
- Prep the Potatoes
Wash and scrub the potatoes well to remove dirt.
Pat them dry with a towel.
Use a fork to poke a few holes around each potato (this helps steam escape while cooking).
Rub each potato with olive oil and sprinkle with salt all over. - Air Fry the Potatoes
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
Cook for 35–45 minutes, turning halfway through. Time may vary depending on the size of your potatoes.
They’re ready when a fork goes in easily and the skin is crispy. - Serve
Slice the potatoes open and fluff the inside with a fork.
Add your favorite toppings like butter, sour cream, cheese, or chives.
Serve hot!
Tips & Tricks
- Use russet potatoes for the fluffiest inside.
